The Junior Woman's Club of Chevy Chase
The Junior Woman's Club of Chevy Chase is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization
located in Chevy Chase, Maryland -- a suburb of Washington, DC.
We are dedicated both to supporting the community and to having fun. !
This year the JWCCC has supported two charitable organizations, our “signature charities”; A Wider Circle and Hearts and Home. Both organizations are supported through financial donations, in-kind donations and programs offered by our membership. Other charities that our club is supporting this year are Montgomery County Social Services and the Chevy Chase Fire Station.
The JWCCC has hosted three fundraisers this club year:
1. The annual Firehouse Bake Sale and Book Sale, held at the Chevy Chase Fire Station. The Bake Sale and Book Sale were very successful, raising $500! Proceeds from this fundraiser benefited the Chevy Chase Fire Station.
2. The Rummage Sale and Flea Market raised over $2,000. The proceeds from this fundraiser, as well as remaining in-kind donations, benefited both of our signature charities, Hearts & Homes and A Wider Circle.
3. Our annual Wine Tasting fundraiser, “UnWinded: A Charity Wine Tasting, raising about 1, 000. Proceeds benefited our two signature charities, A Wider Circle and Hearts & Homes.
Our membership has truly blossomed this club year! We have 24 new members who have all been a wonderful addition to our club! In February, the JWCCC visited GFWC headquarters for our monthly club meeting; which included a tour and our annual new member’s initiation ceremony. This was a wonderful experience for our club and a special time for our new members!

The Junior Woman's Club of Chevy Chase
In addition to supporting organizations such as Operation Smile and Chevy Chase Firehouse, the JWCCC focuses on supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life of women and children.
As such, each year we adopt two Community Partners, putting our resources to work in a way that will make the most impact. Our current Community Partners are the National Center For Children and Families (NCCF) and A Wider Circle (Silver Spring, MD).
We also have an October Book and Bake sale to benefit the Chevy Chase Fire Department, collect school supplies for the Montgomery County needy students, support needy fmilies with gifts at Christmastime, and give baby supplies to the Sasha Bruce Network ( DC), and collect summer clothing to send to Sierra Leone.
We have conducted fund raising events such as Casino Night, MidWinter Tea Party, Comedy Night, Swing Dance, Barn Dance, and Wine Tasting. With our wonderful and dedicated member volunteers, we have raised thousands of dollars for our charities.
Our monthly meetings are on a Wednesday evening, September through May, and each meeting has a topic and refreshments. We also do many co-events with the Women's Club of Chevy Chase.
In addition to the charitable causes, we enjoy socializing at our monthly book club, Girls Night Out outings, and welcome all members to speak up about their persoanl pet projects.
Club funds are not used for these events, and we are careful to keep our operating costs low,
so that we will have more for our charities.
