Established in 1937, the Junior Woman's Club of Chevy Chase (JWCCC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The JWCCC is historically associated with the GFWC Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase and federated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC).
The JWCCC focuses on supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life of women and children. As such, each year we adopt local non-profit organizations as our Signature Charities, putting our resources to work in ways that will make the most impact. Our current Signature Charities are Hearts & Homes for Youth and the DC Diaper Bank. Our monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday evening of each month, September through May. Each meeting has a topic or theme, a service project, and/or a guest speaker. Annually, we organize fundraisers with proceeds benefitting our signature charities.
In addition to our charitable causes, members can also participate in hands-on, project-based programs for at-risk youth through our Bistro Boyz program and our GEMS mentoring program. JWCCC Members also serve on the clubs committees, our Board of Directors and participate in social groups such as our book club and “Girls on Wild” events.

GEMS Mentoring Project
The GEMS (Girls Empowered Motivated and Successful) Mentoring Project, is one of the JWCCC's special projects. GEMS is offered to teen girls ages 14-19; in partnership with one of our signature charities Hearts and Homes for Youth. Hearts & Homes serves youth in crisis by providing them with a variety of residential and supportive programs; including therapeutic group homes, foster care and independent living for pregnant and parenting teen mothers. The goal of the GEMS project is the offer the girls emotional support and mentoring; by exposing them to project based learning, teaching them life skills for independent living (cooking lessons, job skills, etc.) and offering them an opportunity to participate in service activities and social events. Our participation and affection for the girls has meant a lot to them and to our club members; already leaving a lasting impression on the lives we have touched.
On September 16th, the JWCCC hosted our annual Salad Supper for prospective members.
Thank you to all who joined us for a loving evening! And welcome to all of our new members!

During the 2014-2015 club year, the JWCCC supported two charitable organizations, our “signature charities”; A Wider Circle and Hearts and Home. Both organizations were supported through financial donations, in-kind donations and programs offered by our membership. Other charities that our club supports are the Montgomery County Social Services and the Chevy Chase Fire Station.
The JWCCC hosted three fundraisers during the club year (September 2014-May 2015):
1. The annual Firehouse Bake Sale and Book Sale, held at the Chevy Chase Fire Station. The Bake Sale and Book Sale were very successful, raising $500! Proceeds from this fundraiser benefited the Chevy Chase Fire Station.
2. The Rummage Sale and Flea Market raised over $2,000. The proceeds from this fundraiser, as well as remaining in-kind donations, benefited our signature charities.
3. Our annual Wine Tasting fundraiser, “UnWined: A Charity Wine Tasting", raising about 1, 000. Proceeds benefited our signature charities.
